Congress

It stands to reason in an event as big as this year’s FDI World Dental Congress (FDIWDC23), which is being held 24-27 September at Sydney’s International Convention Centre (ICC), that the exhibition will be one worth checking out, part of an attractive offering that also includes a rich scientific programme and expansive networking opportunities.

Encompassing two levels at the ICC and featuring companies from Australia (the local industry is well represented) and around the world, the exhibition is billed as “the most expansive yet” at any Congress, offering delegates the chance to check out the latest and greatest products and services from companies such as 3M, Adec, Planmeca, Colgate, Oral B, Morita, Haleon (GSK), Johnson & Johnson, NSK, Morita, Henry Schein, Ivoclar Vivadent, and Dentavision.

As with previous Congresses organised by the ADA, which is hosting the first in-person FDI event of this kind since 2019, the exhibition will offer the chance for attendees to talk with company representatives and see many of the products in person.

As anyone knows, while online ordering offers a seamless way to procure the products and services you need, actually seeing them physically before you and being able to discuss specs and other salient details can prove invaluable.

Congress will offer you that opportunity on an impressively large scale, in addition to providing an environment in which delegates and their teams can assess whether a product will work for them and get a feel for how it might look and be used in their practice, clinic or workplace.

A chance to meet with others

Nicolette Hughes who is the primary exhibition manager for FDIWDC23 is keen to present the exhibition both as a great place to research and do business but also as a place in which delegates can meet with others and perhaps take some out from the agreeable hustle and bustle of a major international dental event.

“In addition to all the great exhibitors who will be present, we’re also planning wellness zones where attendees can rest their feet for a while, a “Tastes of Australia” area where the superlative food of Australia will be available, and of course, coffee baristas! We know that coffee fuels many events and it won’t be any different at Congress, I assure you.

“We appreciate the involvement of every company that has chosen to expect at Congress and I’m sure delegates will find a great at the exhibition to interest them wherever they go!”

The ADA team behind the organisation of FDIWDC23, and particularly the exhibition, are keen to stress that they want to create a community feel to the space, with the Exhibition Late Night event, to be held on Tuesday 26 September, offering delegates the chance to wander around the various booths with drinks and canapes in hand while chatting in a relaxed and collegial environment.

It’s also worth noting that the exhibition will be open to anyone in the dental industry on Sunday 24 September, the first day of Congress four excitingly busy days, which means that even if someone can’t make it to the entire event, they can at least sample this key component of the Congress experience.

FDIWDC23 is going to be one of the premier global dental events of the year, bringing the dental world to Australia but also showcasing the host country to a host of international delegates, and the exhibition will be an integal part of what’s on offer, giving all attendees the chance to see what’s new in dental products and services, to talk with the experts who know them well and to do in an environment which will offer as much potential for networking as it does the chance where dentistry is now and where it may be headed.
